About the Collection
For scholars studying children’s literature, the Eiche Collection contains books such as Aesop’s Fables, Fairy Tales by The Brothers Grimm, Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Books, Frances Hodgson Burnett’s The Secret Garden, and Kate Douglas Wiggin’s Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.
The collection also includes several editions of Lewis Carroll’s books: The Collected Verse of Lewis Caroll, Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland, and Through the Looking Glass and What Alice Found There. One of Eiche’s copies of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland is signed by Alice (Liddell) Hargreaves, the real-life historical figure who inspired Carroll’s Alice stories.
