Chris Fowler

For me this book was a starting point for questioning the interplay of geography, ethics, and institutions. I built a significant part of my class, Apocalyptic Geographies, around the central question it raises about institutions and how they reflect the needs of a society but also require constant attention if they are to function well. Its conclusion, that we can change institutions for the better if we try, is a message of hope and committment to action that I value immensely.
