Our Commitment as a Statewide Library Resource Center

Providing resources statewide to libraries and Pennsylvanians.

The University Libraries is committed to providing resources for all citizens of Pennsylvania. Our library serves as a Statewide Library Resource Center (SLRC) along with:

• Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh
• Free Library of Philadelphia
• State Library of Pennsylvania

This program was established when the PA Library Code was passed in 1961, creating a network of public libraries, district library centers, and regional resource centers – now known as Statewide Library Resource Centers.

As part of this program, the University Libraries receives funding from the state to support various library operations and services including:

• Collections
• Interlibrary Loan and resource sharing
• Borrowing for PA residents
• On-site access
