The purpose of the Endowment shall be to inspire upstander behavior for justice, on either the micro level (e.g. everyday bullying, teasing, ostracizing) or macro level (e.g. state-sponsored, systemic), and enhance the Penn State University Libraries (the “University Libraries”) by providing a perpetual, annual award, to be known and referred to as the “Linda Stein Upstander Award Honoring Joyce and Diane Froot,” to a jury-selected individual who will conduct scholarly research using the Linda Stein Art Education Collection (the "Archives") in the Eberly Family Special Collections Library, or any successor library that houses the Archives and create a scholarly work based on such research (e.g., an article, essay, chapter or book) (the “Work”) that is intended to be submitted for publication (such award, the “Award,” and such individual, the “Recipient”).
