Mid State Trail Guide 13th Edition Elevation Profiles

Overview

Print maps and guides remain the authoritative and preferred source of geographic information for only a few contemporary uses — navigation and route finding in outdoor recreational pursuits is one such use. For this reason, the Donald W. Hamer Center for Maps and Geospatial Information maintains a current and comprehensive collection of outdoor recreational maps and guides focused mainly on the Mid-Atlantic region, for use by patrons. We also lend and provide basic instruction on the use of GPS units for outdoor recreational use.

We are furthering our commitment to supporting outdoor recreational pursuits in central Pennsylvania by partnering with the Mid State Trail Association to produce updated elevation profiles for the 13th edition of the Mid State Trail Guide. In support of this important effort, we have made good use of our expertise in mapping, geographic information systems, data visualization and computer automation.

Results

Twenty updated elevation profiles were published in 2018 as part of the 13th edition of the Guide to Pennsylvania Mid State Trail, Mid State Trail Association, Inc.
