Duke House

Little is known about the Dukes and their relationship with the architect. Charles was vice president with HRB-Singer (founded as Haller, Raymond, and Brown and currently a division of Raytheon), for which Hajjar also designed the headquarters building on Science Park Road. Hajjar designed structures for two other HRB-Singer executives, as well.

This is the largest of the three cube homes. It has an accompanying detached two-car garage in matching style. Far less ornamentation was used compared to the others. The most distinctive feature is probably the bottom roof line, which is indented in the center. The roof has no gutters, which has led to water damage problems.

The roof line is copied for the entryway and can be detected in the shadows on the house below. In can be seen most clearly in the bottom photo of the rear view on the next page. Also on the next page are a detail of the side window and an alternate front view.
