University Libraries is unable to transfer certain formats; in these cases, a trusted third-party vendor will be recommended by our staff.
As noted, Libraries will only handle AV conversion requests for library-owned collections. Requests for personally-owned material, such as converting a home movie, need to be handled by a third-party vendor. Preservation, Conservation, and Digitization staff maintain a list of trusted AV vendors. Contact digiconversion@psu.edu for the list.

Any member of the Penn State community, at any campus location, is welcome to use this service.

What are some examples?
- You are a student and you need to extract a few minutes from a VHS tape for your digital media project.
- You are a faculty member and you need to transfer audio from a cassette tape to a digital format for use in your class.
- You are a librarian at a Commonwealth Campus and you need to transfer audio from a vinyl album to a digital format for a patron.
