About Me

In my role as Web Content Strategist for University Libraries, I:

  • Work in collaboration with web teams, product owners and stakeholders to develop, implement and communicate a content strategy for the Libraries website
  • Handle information architecture (IA) development for organizing information and content (typically through wireframes and content plans)
  • Participate in UX testing planning and activities for various web-based projects and functions
  • Develop, test, implement and communicate content workflows
  • Create, in conjunction with Public Relations and Marketing team editorial and style guidelines, and implement, communicate and enforce these guidelines
  • Create and edit content and work with other writers
  • Create and maintain a content inventories, assign and track new content, and develop and maintain a gap analysis
  • Mentor content authors
  • Help develop training and educational materials, emphasizing accessibility and user experience of content within our content strategy
  • Provide advice and consultation for additional websites and tools in the Libraries to achieve a consistent voice
  • Develop and maintain communications for service alerts, website information, and regular updates

  • Over wenty years experience in information technology and web communications strategy, public relations, media relations, and outreach activities at Penn State
  • Three years experience as an appointed leadership team member for the Web Conference at Penn State, with over ten years experience as a core committee member
  • Five years diverse leadership experience with Penn State’s Commission for Women, including chair, a one-year elected appointment
