Social Sciences and Education offers a range of collections, services and facilities to support teaching and research at Penn State. Our librarians select library materials, provide consultation services, offer both group and individualized instruction, and serve as liaisons to a variety of departments and programs, including African Studies, African American Studies, Anthropology, Communication Sciences and Disorders, Criminology, Education, Human Development and Family Studies, Labor and Employment Relations, Public Policy, Political Science, Psychology, Sociology, and Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies. We also provide collection and research assistance for interdisciplinary fields such as area studies, demography, ethnic studies, environmental studies, international affairs, and law, and offer support for data discovery and statistical needs.  In addition, we maintain an array of government information sources from state, federal and international agencies, and house a comprehensive collection of curricular resources, including children’s literature, instructional materials, and teaching kits.
