Articles (copy)

World and Distance faculty, staff and students can request photocopies from journals owned by the Penn State Libraries, as well as articles from journals not owned by Penn State.

The Libraries subscribe to many databases and services that enhance access to materials not owned by Penn State. 

  • Start at the Libraries Home page to search for items
  • Follow the "I Want It" or "Request" or "Get It!" Buttons to submit requests
  • Articles will be delivered to you within your ILLiad account

Books, DVDs, CDs(loan)

All eligible faculty, staff and students can request circulating material (books, DVDs, CDs) located at any Penn State Library (all campus locations), as well as material not owned by Penn State.

Circulating material owned by Penn State
  • Search the CAT
  • Click on the "I Want It" Button
  • Enter your Penn State Access Account User ID and Password
  • Select World Campus from the pickup location list
  • Click on Place Hold
  • Loans will be listed on your "My Library Account"
Books not owned by Penn State - use EZ-Borrow
  • Logon to E-ZBorrow
  • Select Searching/Requesting
  • Choose World Campus as the Pickup Location
  • Loans will be listed on your "My Library Account"
Material not owned by Penn State - Use ILLiad
  • Logon to ILLiad
  • Select Request a Loan
  • To avoid receiving material no longer needed, indicate correct date "Not Wanted After Date" - default is 1 month
  • Loans will be listed on your ILLiad account

UPS now offers UPS My Choice® - a service you may sign up for that tracks all UPS shipments to your address.
 With this app, you will know when your items are expected to arrive.  You can track the items we ship you from
Penn State to your door!  Alerts and tracking are FREE.

Eligible Users

  • Books will be sent via UPS or US Mail to the address in your ILLiad profile.
  • Books will not be shipped outside the U.S. and Canada.  Instead, staff will work with the user on what content is needed from a book.  Staff will then provide partial scanned content posted on the user's ILLiad account.
  • An email will be sent when the requested loan is shipped.


You are responsible for returning borrowed material to the Interlibrary Loan office at University Park on or before the due date.  A return mailing label will be included with the item.  You are responsible for return shipping costs.  You can return them via UPS or US Mail to the address below. Please wrap items securely.  You are responsible for any damage incurred upon returning.  You also can return the books to any Penn State University Libraries campus or branch library circulation desk.
