Jennifer P. Agans

Jackie Davis is the mentor who inspired my academic journey. I participated in, and later coached for and directed, developmental circus arts programs she created using the approaches she describes in this book. Those experiences led me to ask questions about youth development, out-of-school time programs, recreation, and physical activity that remain central to my program of research. I hope my book selection inspires others to engage with this joyful art form and learn the circus secrets!
