My dissertation adviser, Dr. V. Lakshmikantham, was one of the most prolific nonlinear analysts of the 20th century. It was impossible not to be permeated with his passion for nonlinear analysis while in his presence. He finally retired at an age of 92, but not before guiding me to this book.
