Idan Landau’s Control in Generative Grammar is a critical survey of over five decades of research on control theory. It is my selection for the Promotion and Tenure Recognition Program because it not only served as a primary source of inspiration to me in the years immediately preceding my promotion to full professor, but it also continues to spur my research program today.
