My 3-year-old daughter, Teja, has reintroduced me to the world of children's books. I am presently enjoying reading a chapter a day to her. I cannot say how she likes it, but she raptly listens even though the book I read has few pictures. I think she likes the conversational style of the book, where Alice is talking to everybody and everything! I can't tell her favorite yet though, but I have many favorite conversations in it. The best I like is the following celebrated one between Alice and the Cheshire cat:"Would you tell me, please, which way I ought to go from here?""That depends a good deal on where you want to get to," said the Cat."I don't much care where " said Alice."Then it doesn't matter which way you go," said the Cat." so long as I get somewhere," Alice added as an explanation."Oh, you're sure to do that," said the Cat, "if you only walk long enough."
