The Social Sciences Library offers a range of collections, services and facilities to support teaching and research at Penn State. The library has large tables, individual carrels, 42 computers, a printer, a scanner, and holds a collection of books, journals, specialized data and government information.
Social Sciences Librarians select library materials, provide consultation services, offer both group and individualized instruction, and serve as liaisons to a variety of departments and programs, including African studies, African American studies, anthropology, criminology, political science, psychology, sociology, and women’s and gender studies. In addition, the Library assists with the research needs for other programs such as demography, ecology, geography, health policy, human development and family studies, labor and employment relations, and law.
