The Pennsylvania State University Libraries invite applications and nominations for a Reference and Instruction Librarian at the Penn State Mont Alto campus. We seek a proactive and creative individual to engage and collaborate with students, faculty, and staff around teaching and learning. Major responsibilities include: collaborating with colleagues at Mont Alto and across the Libraries in planning, delivery, and evaluation of information literacy instruction, reference services, and research support; developing and sustaining collaborative relationships with faculty, students, and staff in support of campus teaching, learning, research, and student success; participating in outreach and programming to engage students, faculty, and staff; developing print and online research and instructional materials; serving as liaison to selected academic programs; consulting with faculty to support their research and course development; participating in collection development with responsibility for building and maintaining collections across the curriculum; participating in the review and development of library policies and procedures; and participating in faculty governance and University service.
This position will be filled either as a tenure-line or fixed-term faculty librarian position, depending upon the interests and qualifications of the successful candidate. In addition to the above duties, tenure-track library faculty are expected to participate in research activities and University and professional service in support of promotion and tenure requirements. Requirements:
Requires a MLS degree from an ALA-accredited program or an equivalent graduate degree in a related field; experience related to information literacy instruction, reference, and research support; demonstrated commitment to being student-centered; strong commitment to diversity, equity, respect and inclusion; and excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some evening and/or weekend work is required.

Penn State Mont Alto is located in south central Pennsylvania, near Chambersburg and Gettysburg. There are approximately 1200 students, with over 460 residing on campus. Compensation and Benefits:
Rank and salary are dependent upon qualifications and experience. Fringe benefits include liberal vacation, excellent insurance and health care coverage, state or TIAA retirement options, and educational privileges. In addition, faculty in the University Libraries are afforded funds for professional development travel annually. Faculty may be asked to travel as official representatives of the Libraries to certain events and those trips are reimbursed at full cost within limits established by the University.
