Carmen has worked in higher education for twenty years but this is her first position working in University Libraries. In her current role, she provides professional development with the intention of enhancing the quality of service at all levels in University Libraries. This is done through coordinating training events, promoting training resources, facilitating team and leadership activities and providing timely responses to employee training concerns.
Originally from St. Louis, Missouri, her career path includes positions in University Housing and the Registrar's Office in South Carolina colleges/universities. Studies in Adult Education brought Carmen to Penn State where she has gained experience working at World Campus and the Clearinghouse for Military Family Readiness. Carmen enjoys collaborating with colleagues both in and outside the library.
Carmen holds three degrees: B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis, M.A. from the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, M. Div. from Columbia International University and ABD Pennsylvania State.
