Message from the Dean Regarding COVID-19 and Reduced Hours
March 12, 2020
Our first priority is the health and safety of the Penn State community and our library users. Penn State University Libraries is following and supports the Penn State administration and COVID-19 action groups’ efforts to minimize the risk of exposure to COVID-19 by moving courses University-wide to remote access.
As this situation develops in real time, information about COVID-19 and Penn State’s response may be subject to change and will be updated regularly. Please refer to its “Student, Employee, and Community FAQs” section for answers to questions.
I want to reassure our community that the University Libraries will make every effort to continue necessary services, resources and provide scholarly support to our faculty, staff, and students without jeopardizing individuals’ health and safety. We have curated an online Remote Resources for Penn State Library Users page to aid those who require access to Libraries materials while away from campus.
As this outbreak and precautionary recommendations evolve, you may see additional changes to our operating hours, events, and policies. Our updates page will be refreshed as changes occur.
I also want to thank everyone in the Penn State University Libraries community for their time, effort, and planning in proactively addressing the changing needs of our University as we confront the COVID-19 outbreak.
Thank you for your continued support,
Barbara I. Dewey
Dean of University Libraries and Scholarly Communications
