15 Movies in 15 Weeks Spring Semester 2017

The Library and Information Committee every semester chooses fifteen (15) movies for students to watch that are based on cultural, historical, and aesthetic impact.  These selections are meant to broaden the experience that students have on campus and in the community.  These movies are not selected for any class and are meant for enjoyment of the student community at the Hazleton Campus.

Week 1 – 1/8/2017
Bagdad Café (1987)
A lonely German woman ends up in the most desolate motel on Earth and decides to make it brighter.

Week 2 – 1/15/2017
Black Narcissus (1947)
After opening a convent in the Himalayas, five nuns encounter conflict and tension - both with the natives and also within their own group - as they attempt to adapt to their remote, exotic surroundings.

The story of the final Emperor of China.

Doctor Zhivago (1965)
The life of a Russian physician and poet who, although married to another, falls in love with a political activist's wife and experiences hardship during the First World War and then the October Revolution.
